Meet the Man Behind it all

Steve Nolan, founder of Soundproof Warehouse, has been in the construction industry for over 20 years. During this time, he’s dealt with numerous suppliers that work on the old “call-advise-quote” model. He realised that, with the information now available online, people just want to know how much the products they need cost so they can get on with the job. That’s where the inspiration for Soundproof Warehouse began and that’s why we provide full disclosure on all our non-custom-built products up front.

Steve lives in Brisbane but began life in Ireland. After meeting his Australian wife in England, they moved to Brisbane in 2009, where they live with their two children and a super-cool dog named Bolt. They love outback adventures and have visited remote areas such as Longreach, Mt Isa, Opalton, Larkk Quarry (amazing), Carnarvon Gorge and Uluru. Steve thinks he’s Australian, but his accent says otherwise.

Stephen was excellent when preparing the quote and conducting the inspection. The installers did a very neat job and it looks great. Street noise was reduced to nil. The barking dog noise (think very loud punishing high sharp yelp which was the main reason for doing this) while not eliminated was dramatically attenuated. At no point did we expect or led to believe by the Soundproof team the dog noise would be completely removed it has however met our expectation and makes the situation far more bearable.

We love the fence wrap. I suffer significant noise anxiety from the next door neighbors pool pump and while we have insulated the walls and double glazed the windows we were looking for an option that might further reduce the noise closer to the pump itself, when we came across the fence wrap. Had him come back again and got sound proofing done and wish we had done it sooner. I had 2 windows fitted and the difference in the sound is amazing! We no longer hear the hum of the air con or pool filter and its so peaceful now with less noise. I’m a light sleeper and our house is right outside a main road where the traffic noise at peak hours can be quite loud and relentless. Our main bedroom is at the front of the house so I’ve had to sleep in another room away from the road with earplugs.We had our windows installed a couple of days ago and I couldn’t be happier. Really really impressed with my secondary glazing installed yesterday by soundproof warehouse. I was nervous about how it would look, how accessible the window should be etc and there was absolutely no need to be worried!
