The most popular and perhaps the most important soundproofing accessory. The Resilient channel is a thin metal channel. It is designed to improve the sound insulation of plasterboard walls and ceilings. It works by isolating the plasterboard from the stud work. A bit confusing?
To put it simply— The plasterboard and the stud framing inside the wall don’t touch because of it. The gap makes it harder for sound waves to move. It is easy and effortless to install this to walls.
We personally recommend using this product on top of a layer of Sound-Stop 5 for extra acoustic insulation. So it goes like this: First comes the stud frame, then the Sound-Stop 5, then the Resilient Channels and finally the plasterboard.
A product this cost-efficient and yet so important? We’d say you should buy it right now!
