Ultra-Quiet Panels

We do not carry this item in stock These products are manufactured when an order is placed, kindly reach out to our staff for a freight quote before making your purchase, thank you.

Ultra-Quiet Foam Panels are highly suitable for reducing reverberation in large buildings, with an absorption rating NRC of 1 (highest possible). When clarity in verbal communication is a non-negotiable requirement, e.g. in a lecture hall, this product is your must-have solution.

This product exhibits high fire resistance and low thermal conductivity as a type of soundproof foam. These properties make Ultra-Quiet soundproof panels safe for use in indoor environments.

Notable features:

  • Dual-purpose — can use fabric acoustic modules for walls and tiles for ceilings.
  • Easy to Cut — with a straight-edge blade, eg. Stanley knife.
  • Lightweight — weighing only 200 grams per panel.
  • Fire Resistant — will slow or stop the spread of fire.
  • Low Thermal Conductivity — low heat transfer, which makes it safe to use in interior areas.
These products are manufactured when an order is placed – please allow additional time for manufacturing and transport.

How do Ultra-Quiet Panels work?

The key Ultra-Quiet Panels is in their composition (using Basotect® materials). The flexible, open-cell foam structure easily absorbs sound waves. Once essentially “trapped”, the sound energy decreases from the friction between the repositioned air particles and angular cell struts. This process reduces reverberation in the room, improving the overall sound clarity.

What spaces are Ultra-Quiet Panels best for?

Ultra-Quiet Panels are ideal for commercial and institutional applications, especially where sound clarity is necessary—for example, in restaurants, auditoriums, conference halls, classrooms, and other learning centres. These panels are safe to use in almost any open indoor area, as they exhibit high fire resistance and low thermal conductivity.

What are Ultra Quiet Panels made of?

Fire-resistant melamine resin. The panels are available in two different colours: pure white and light grey. Ultra-Quiet products are visually appealing, and the soundproof tiles feature a stylish bevelled edge to suit any indoor space. You can also choose to order the fabric-wrapped panels, which allow you to print any image or pattern onto them.

PRODUCT FAQs

How are the panels fixed?

Ultra-Quiet Panels are classed as adherable products, i.e. they are “glued on”. Installation should be via paintable silicone where plasterboard is the substrate. For other substrates, either all-purpose silicone or water-based construction adhesive such as liquid nails can also be used (low odour recommended). For detailed instructions refer to the installation tab

Can the panels be used outside and inside?

The panels are designed for inside/interior use only.

How many panels do I need to install?

To produce sufficient functionality, we advise installing panels to cover a minimum of 30% of your entire ceiling area (in the space you wish to soundproof). For walls, use a ratio of 10% (to be installed a high as possible).

Can the panels get wet?

Being designed for interior use, this product is not weatherproof. The panels can withstand some damp conditions but not direct saturation. Therefore, you should avoid getting your Ultra-Quiet Panels wet.

Can I cut the Ultra-Quiet materials?

The product cuts most satisfactorily with a more rigid blade such as a sharp carving knife. More flexible blades can produce a less precise finish. Circular holes can be cut with a hole saw.

Can I paint the panels?

Ultra-Quiet materials are not suitable for painting. They are designed so you can easily skip this step, as they are visually appealing and available in versatile pre-existing finishes. You can order the panels in your choice of colours: pure white and light grey.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

Ultra-Quiet – Material Installation Guide

Ultra-Quiet materials efficiently absorb excessive sound reflections, reducing the reverberation capability and therefore the general “loudness” of the space.

Product Use

These specialised products are fitted to the ceiling (soundproof foam tiles) and upper walls (fabric acoustic modules) of areas that display disproportionate reverberation time.

NOTE: When handling please ensure that hands are clean or wear white gloves to avoid fingerprints or smudges to the face of the material. Also, ensure panels are installed high enough on your walls so that they stay out of reach of any prying hands.

Installation

To avoid damage we’d suggest installation to either the ceiling or the walls (not below 1.8m). Avoid installation near air intake or outlet.

Installation should be via paintable silicone where plasterboard is the substrate. For other substrates, either all-purpose silicone or water-based construction adhesive such as liquid nails can also be used.

In either case, you should allow 1 x 380gm tube per 4 panels or 8 tiles.  Apply adhesive to the rear of the tile/panel as a thick “ish” bead approximately 30mm – 40mm in from the perimeter and scribe across to the centre (see illustration below).

Fit directly to the substrate, gently pressing the panel/tile firmly into place along the glue lines. The products are very lightweight and will adhere instantly.

Ceiling Installation Notes

The required quantity of soundproof tiles should be spread as evenly as is practical across the ceiling. Consider designing the layout out to avoid other ceiling elements and reduce cutouts.
