Are there any limitations to having secondary glazing applied?
Our only limitation would be if plantation shutters are installed on the window, which would have to be removed first.
Do I need to take special care of secondary glazed windows?
No, only standard window cleaning is required for the glass, such as Windex cleaning products.
Does secondary glazing help insulate heat?
Yes. A major cause of heat loss during winter is the 3mm glass in existing older-style or wooden Queenslander homes, but by adding a new secondary window, there will be a noticeable difference in heat loss and draughts from cracks and gaps in old windows.
Do you also add frames or seals during the installation?
All our window panels have double acoustic seals for maximum performance and for optimum noise control. This will also provide exceptional performance for thermal effectiveness. Once the frame is installed, we then seal the frame too. Effectively, you will have three seals that will reduce noise.
How long does it take to make custom acoustic windows?
It usually takes between 3-4 weeks to install secondary glazing, from job order to completion.
Do your glazes and windows meet Australian standards, and do you offer a warranty?
We use Grade A safety glass in all our windows. We offer a 10-year warranty on all workmanship.
What can your acoustic windows be applied on?
