At Soundproof Warehouse, we specialise in delivering total peace and quiet to your home and office. Our secondary glazed windows are the perfect option for proper insulation, or to reduce road sounds and other unwanted noises from creeping in.
Our acoustic windows are specially built with features that maximise their soundproofing performance, such as:
Our secondary glazing is significantly thicker than standard window panes, which usually measure only 3-4mm in thickness. Even most other double-glazed window options use 4mm glass as standard.
Our heavy-duty secondary glazed windows are as effective at sound reduction as a brick veneer wall or roller shutters.
We ensure you have maximum noise reduction with properly double acoustic-sealed windows, as well as sealing the frame to provide a total of three seals.
The larger the airspace between panels, the better the noise reduction. We use two different thicknesses of glass to help change the frequency of the sound, further reducing and baffling the outside noise.
We proudly service the greater South East Queensland and Brisbane metropolitan Area, including from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast as well as to Ipswich.
We’re also happy to extend our services beyond these specified areas – for a quick quote, we kindly request photographs and measurements of your windows, your location, and any other relevant details. Once you approve our initial estimate, we can proceed to schedule a formal quote.
For living rooms, secondary glazing helps by acting as a shield against harsh temperatures, minimising both the loss of heat during winter and reducing significant heat gains in summer. This maintains a comfortable indoor temperature for your home all year round – not just making it a relaxing atmosphere, but also lowering home energy bills as well.
Bedrooms are where secondary glazed windows can help make a huge difference for homeowners, with their enhanced insulation helping to block out outside noise to make sure of an easy, restful night’s sleep. Not just this, but their added protection also blocks out pollens and allergens, as well as insulate heat inside to create a healthy environment and protect you from sickness.
Since moisture levels tend to be high in bathrooms, secondary glazing can make a significant difference in controlling the build-up of condensation on your windows. By preventing too much excess moisture from accumulating on the bathroom’s glass surfaces, the extra glazing helps control the risk of mould and mildew in your space.
For those who work from home – or just want a nice, quiet room for total relaxation – the strength of secondary glazing for your windows helps block out the external noise distractions that get in the way of focus and productivity. It also helps block out outdoor pollen and dust allergens to not get in the way of your work or serenity.
In places like sunrooms, conservatories, or other rooms with a significant amount of natural sunlight, secondary glazing helps significantly reduce the amount of harmful UV rays that enter the room and cause fading damage to furniture and flooring. If you care about a neat and well-ordered environment, this helps you maintain the value and appeal of your interior furnishings.
If your home faces the street, secondary glazing provides an extra layer of privacy by reducing visibility from outside. This eliminates the need for heavy curtains or blinds, maintaining your home privacy from passersby or neighbouring properties while still allowing for natural sunlight.
Our only limitation would be if plantation shutters are installed on the window, which would have to be removed first.
No, only standard window cleaning is required for the glass, such as Windex cleaning products.
Yes. A major cause of heat loss during winter is the 3mm glass in existing older-style or wooden Queenslander homes, but by adding a new secondary window, there will be a noticeable difference in heat loss and draughts from cracks and gaps in old windows.
All our window panels have double acoustic seals for maximum performance and for optimum noise control. This will also provide exceptional performance for thermal effectiveness. Once the frame is installed, we then seal the frame too. Effectively, you will have three seals that will reduce noise.
It usually takes between 3-4 weeks to install secondary glazing, from job order to completion.
We use Grade A safety glass in all our windows. We offer a 10-year warranty on all workmanship.
We can install add-on secondary windows in front of all types of sliding windows, double-hung windows, casement windows, French doors, awning windows, picture windows, transom windows, slider windows, and general stationary windows.
