6.38mm Laminated Glass
Most standard windows are only 3-4mm, even double glazed windows use 4mm glass as standard.

That’s as effective at sound reduction as a brick veneer wall. Roller shutters and heavier glass won’t give you this reduction.

The larger the airspace between panels, the better the noise reduction. The use of 2 different thickness of glass also helps to change the frequency of the sound, therefore helping to further reduce the noise to a baffled sound.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to make the custom acoustic window? Are there any ready-made products?
It usually takes between 5-7 weeks to install a new window from job order to completion.
Are the glazes/windows certified/meet Australian Standards? Are there any guarantee/warranty?
We use Grade A safety glass in all our windows. We offer a 10-year warranty on all workmanship.
Where can you use acoustic windows on? Is it only for clear glass windows and doors? Can the existing windows/doors be decorative/ornamental?
We can install add on secondary windows in front of all types of sliding windows, double hung windows, casement windows, French doors, Awning Windows, Picture Window, Transom Window, Slider Windows, Stationary Windows.
Do you also add frame/seals during the installation? If so, could this be added on as the process of installation?
All our window panels have double acoustic seals for maximum performance which is needed for noise control. This will also give exceptional performance for thermal effectiveness. Once the frame is installed, we then seal the frame too. Effectively you will have three seals that will reduce noise.
What are the requirements to have secondary glazing applied?
The only issue is if plantation shutters are installed on the window, we cannot install the secondary glazing. The shutters need to be removed first.
Is there a care/maintenance guide for the window?
Standard cleaning required for the glass such as windex cleaning products.
Does secondary glazing help insulate the heat in homes, in particular wooden/older houses?
Yes. A major cause of heat loss in winter is from the 3mm glass in existing Queenslander homes. By adding a new add on secondary window there will be a noticeable difference of heat loss and draughts from cracks and gaps in the old windows.
