Fibertex is a type of acoustic insulation with the highest level of sound absorption possible (NRC 1). You may know this product by its other name, Rockwool. It is a form of soundproof insulation made from mineral fibre/stone wool. You can wrap the panels in a fabric of your choice to make them visually appealing. This product works wonderfully inside walls, around pool pumps, and inside generator bays.

Fibertex 650 has an NRC of 1, which is the highest possible rating for soaking up sound. It is also known as stone wool insulation or Rockwool and is composed of mineral fibre.

Want to make your own sound absorbers? This industrial acoustic insulation is ideal for you. Additionally, you can wrap it in fabric and customise its look. This is a heavy-duty product and can handle continuous operation up to 650°C. Moreover, it is non-combustible. Panels can be installed in large generator bays, around pool equipment and many enclosures where reverberation noise needs to be controlled. Product FAQ

  • Can I install in walls behind plasterboard?

    Yes you can. As this product is an industrial application it will need to be cut down to size. This product is very dense and heavy and will control noise inside walls.

  • Can I cut Fibertex?

    Yes, you can cut with a hand saw or large Fatmax Stanley knife and straight edge. Always use the correct PPE when using hand tools.

  • Can I use Fibertex to make my own sound absorber?

    Yes. A good idea is to make a frame to go on the outside perimeter of the fibertex product. Wrap the product with a breathable product like a cotton fabric. Staple to the frame and hang or place in the required location.

  • Can I Install directly on walls to absorb noise?

    Yes, ideally you would do this in an industrial application where appearance is not an issue as the product is fibrous. Many builders will use fibertex around pool pumps and install inside generator bays to control reverberation.

  • How do I fix Fibertex to a Surface?

    We recommend mechanically fixing to a structure with 4 fixings and a large washer hold in position.
