How do the Acoustic Foam Panels work?
The foam panels cover hard surfaces that would otherwise reflect sound and cause echoes in a room. This polyurethane material absorbs high-frequency sound waves while reducing standing waves to balance out your audio environment. It is unable to fully absorb low frequency sound waves, so it is not a complete soundproofing solution. If you want to improve the acoustic quality of your room or studio though, this product is for you!
What are standing waves?
Standing waves are patterns of constructive and destructive sound interference. For example, when one of these waves hits a wall or ceiling, it will reflect and bounce from surface to surface. This sound interference can result in flutter echoes etc., and can be subtle at mid-high frequencies but intense at low frequencies. Chevron Iso Acoustic Foam Panels help reduce standing waves, improving your room’s sound quality.
